Custom Website Design & Development
A well-built website is the foundation of your online presence.
Daylan Design builds custom websites that are structured, reliable and built to perform long term. Each project is carefully planned to ensure the site architecture, design and technical configuration support both usability and search visibility.
Custom Websites Built to Perform
Following an initial conversation, a clear project proposal and timeline will be provided.
Website development projects typically include:
- Custom website design and build
- Mobile-responsive layout development
- Performance optimisation (90+ PageSpeed score)
- Core Web Vitals and technical SEO foundations
- Structured data schema markup
- Secure configuration from launch
From straightforward brochure websites to more advanced builds with integrations or custom functionality, every project is scoped individually based on your requirements.
How it works
Every website built by Daylan Design starts with a clear brief. Before any design work begins, the site architecture, content structure and technical requirements are agreed. This prevents scope creep and means the project moves faster once development starts.
Performance is built in from day one, not added at the end. Target scores of 90+ on Google PageSpeed are achieved through server-side optimisation, correctly sized images, deferred non-critical scripts and lean code — not by removing functionality.
Websites are built to be maintainable. Clean, well-structured code means future edits are straightforward, whether they are made through a care plan, in-house or by another developer if your circumstances change.
Common questions
How long does a website project take?
Most straightforward brochure websites take 4–8 weeks from brief to launch. Larger projects with custom functionality or complex integrations take longer and are scoped individually.
Do you build on WordPress or other platforms?
The primary stack is WordPress, which suits most businesses well. For projects that benefit from custom development, interactivity or specific performance requirements, Next.js is also available.
What happens after the website launches?
Ongoing support is available through a WordPress care plan or website management retainer. Alternatively, the site can be handed over fully with documentation.
Do you work with businesses outside the West Midlands?
Yes. Most projects run entirely remotely. Daylan Design is based in the West Midlands but works with businesses across the UK.
